Court pardons second ex-juror in case of Yuri Budanov's murder

The court has found Vitaly Pronin, a former juror in the case of the murder of Colonel Yuri Budanov, guilty of obstructing justice and immediately amnestied the defendant.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that two former jurors in the case of the murder of Colonel Yuri Budanov were accused of obstructing justice. On April 28, the court stopped the criminal proceedings against Diana Lomonosova, one of the defendants, for the reason of amnesty. At trial, Diana Lomonosova pleaded not guilty, while Vitaly Pronin, the second defendant, admitted his guilt.

Colonel Yuri Budanov, who had been earlier sentenced for the kidnapping and murder of Elza Kungaeva, a Chechen young woman, was shot dead in Moscow on June 10, 2011. In May 2013, Yusup Temerkhanov, a native of Chechnya, was sentenced for the charge of murder to 15 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. Yusup Temerkhanov pleaded not guilty.

Today, at the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow, prosecutors asked the court to find Vitaly Pronin guilty; meanwhile, they found that possible to amnesty the defendant. The judge has agreed with the position of the prosecutors.
