Dagestani advocate reports about his client's torture to ID of the ICRF

Gusein Abdulkadyrov, a resident of Dagestan, who was arrested on suspicion of collaborating with the armed underground, was tortured by power agents, said his defender Rustam Yunusov.

On December 25, 2014, Gusein Abdulkadyrov was visiting his relatives in the village of Novy Sulak, Kizilyurt District, from where he was taken away by law enforcers, his father Abdulkadyr Abdulkadyrov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to his story, there were at least four power agents.

The lawyer Rustam Yunusov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the details of his client's detention that he had learnt, in his words, from the meeting with his client. On the day of detention, at about 6:00 p.m., power agents took away Gusein's passport and cell phone, roped his hands, put a bag over his head and took him away to unknown place, said Yunusov.

"There, in that unknown place, they connected electric current to his fingers and tortured him with electricity, forcing to confess of the crimes he never committed and of his assistance to members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), without notifying his relatives about the detention, and without providing him with a duly qualified legal assistance," said Yunusov.

On February 17, Yunusov sent a complaint to the Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the ICRF asking to conduct an investigation into the incident.
