In attack on Grozny militants killed son of deputy head of Chechen FMS
Umar Kadyrov, a relative of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, who was killed in the militants' attack on Grozny on December 4, was a son of the deputy head of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of Russia for the republic, FMS source said today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on the night of December 4 militants attacked policemen in Grozny. The Chechen capital was put under the counterterrorist operation regime. Most of the attackers took refuge in the House of Press, and some of them – in School No. 20; both buildings were blocked. According to latest reports, the fight resulted in 11 killed members of the armed underground and 14 lost power agents; other 36 law enforcers were wounded.
"On December 4, in the attack on Grozny of a gang of militants, Umar, a son of Movlet Kadyrov, the deputy head of the republic's FMS, perished tragically. He was shot dead by bandits in the central part of the city, when driving his car," the source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The father of the casualty is a close relative of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov on the father side. The funeral of Umar Kadyrov took place on December 5 in the village of Oyskhar (Novogrozny) of the Gudermes District of Chechnya, said the source.
Earlier, the head of Chechnya wrote on his page in the social network Instagram that militants had killed his close relative in the attack on Grozny on December 4.
Let us note here that the December 4 armed attack was the fifth major attack of members of the armed underground on dwelling settlements of Northern Caucasus since 2004.
