The Buynaksk City Court has sentenced Zarema Bagavutdinova, an activist of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), accused of promoting terrorist activities, to five years of imprisonment in a general security colony, said her lawyer Ziyautdin Uvaisov.

At today's session, Bagavutdinova pronounced her last plea and again stated her innocence.

Let us remind you that the state prosecution asked the court to sentence Bagavutdinova to six years of colony, while the defence demanded to completely acquit her. The article under which the case was considered stipulates from five to ten years of imprisonment.
