"Today, the Moscow police have detained Beslan Teuvazhev for making mourning ribbons dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the end of the Caucasian War. All the ribbons were confiscated," said Tashu.

"As far as I know, he was charged with inciting ethnic hatred. The ribbons in memory of the victims of the Russian-Caucasian War were used as the argument. Meanwhile, such ribbons had been made for several years by May 21, the day of the end of the War," Aslan Beshto, another activist, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and explained that this year they made 70,000 such commemorative ribbons.
