Town in Dagestan, republican subordination, 118 km of Makhachkala. Railway station. Population (1992 est.) 23.3 thousand. Town since 1990. The town has a glass factory, a brickworks and a winery, production of carpets.

In Tbilisi, a protest action was dedicated to the Bidzina Ivanishvili’s birthday. Participants of the protest action brought black balloons with wishes for the birthday and released them into the sky.
