Chundyshko: events on the Day of Circassian Flag consolidate authorities and public movements
In Adygea, about 1500 people took part in the festivities on the Day of the State Flag of the Republic, which is also the national Circassian flag. The activities carried out in this holiday have consolidated the authorities and public movements, said Zaurbij Chundyshko, the head of the Maikop public organization "Adyge Khase-Circassian Council".
The Day of the State Flag of Adygea was marked for the first time, after in March the Deputies of the State Council-Khase passed the respective law, which was initiated by the Republic's Public Movement "Adyge Khase-Circassian Parliament".
The march from the city park to Lenin Square was attended by about 800 people, the website of the MIA for Adygea reports.
Zaurbij Chundyshko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the members of his organization – the Maikop-based NGO "Adyge Khase-Circassian Council" took part only in the march.
"We have declared 2014 to be the Year of Grief in connection with the 150th anniversary of the end of the Russian-Caucasian War; therefore, we only took part in the march in the Flag Day," said Chundyshko, noting the high level of the organized activities.
