Three persons detained in Rostov-on-Don within checks after Volgograd terror acts

Three people with a grenade, drugs and explosives were detained in a hotel in Rostov-on-Don during inspections that were initiated after the terror acts committed in Volgograd, Andrei Larionov, the head of the regional department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), said today.

"In examining one of the city hotels, three persons were found and detained. A grenade, drugs, and – as it turned out later – an explosive device were found on them," said the head of the regional police.

The detentions took place on January 14, but no information was disseminated in the interests of the investigation, said Larionov as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

The names of the detainees are not disclosed. So far, no comments are available from them or their representatives regarding the charges.

The checks in the region are associated with the terror acts in Volgograd, said the head of the MIA Department. In the course of them, according to his story, several persons who are on the wanted list were detained in the Rostov Region; several caches of weapons were found.
