Georgy Margvelashvili: Georgia to improve relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia with EU assistance

A European Union Association Agreement will allow Tbilisi to solve problematic issues with Abkhazia and South Ossetia. This was told by Georgian President Georgy Margvelashvili to journalists in Vilnius on November 29.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 29, at the summit of "Eastern Partnership" held in Vilnius, Georgia initialled an EU Association Agreement, including an agreement to establish a free trade zone.

"The EU Association Agreement and further steps towards Europe represent the way, through which, we are confident, we will solve the problematic issues with Abkhazia and South Ossetia," said Georgian President Georgy Margvelashvili to journalists on November 29.

According to him, the Georgian side wants to attract people living in those regions to successful democratic Georgia. "We believe that there are many arguments that we can offer our fellow citizens of Abkhazia and South Ossetia," Georgy Margvelashvili has stated.
