Azerbaijan marks the 90th Geidar Aliev's birthday with Feast of Flowers
The Feast of Flowers is celebrated today in Azerbaijan within the events dedicated to the 90th birthday of the former President of the country Geidar Aliev.
The celebration of the birthday began with a wreath-laying ceremony performed by Geidar Aliev's son - the incumbent President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev, the "Trend" reports.
At midday, festivities began in the park in front of the Palace named after Geidar Aliev, the territory of which is decorated by compositions of plants. Fairy tale heroes are shaped with flower, and flower petals form a portrait of Geidar Aliev. Besides, guests could see flower carpets with intricate designs. The city of flowers is composed of about a million plants, writes the "Russian News Service".
The park also hosts concerts of creative groups of Baku; while children take part in a pavement drawing contest, the "News-Azerbaijan" writes.
At 9:00 p.m., a concert in the open air near the parachute tower in the National Park (Seashore Boulevard) began. The holiday will end with fireworks.
