Members of "execution list" leave Dagestani village of Khadjalmakhi, local reports
Many Salafi Muslim who lived in the village of Khadjalmakhi, Levashin District of Dagestan, who found themselves in the so-called "execution list", have left the village, said a local resident.
In early April it became known that the "execution list" appeared in Khadjalmakhi, including Salafi Muslims. In total, according to local residents, the list comprises 33 names. The local police unit said they know nothing about the existence of such lists.
By March 25, three persons, whose names were on the list, were killed. On that day, unidentified persons shot dead the 34-year-old Abdulmadjid Madjidov. The Dagestani MIA said that he was follower of Wahhabism.
On March 16, under similar circumstances, father and son Akhmedov, born in 1940 and 1977, were killed. The gunmen drove up to the mosque in a black Priora car without license number plates, shot the Akhmedovs dead and fled. Later, the car was found burned down in the outskirts of the village.
"The people whose names are on the list refuse to contact outsiders and journalists; their families are scared; most of them have already left Khadjalmakhi," a local resident told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on the condition of anonymity.
Akhmed Omarov, the head of the village, did not confirm the statements about the departure of his residents. "Nobody has officially de-registered from Khadjalmakhi; and people from the list have really went somewhere. However, we have a lot of businessmen in the village, who often go here and there."
