"Sova": two persons have perished in Russia this year as a result of racist attacks

Since the start of 2012, at least 32 people have suffered from racist attacks in Russia; two of them were lost. The nine regions, where such incidents have occurred, include the Volgograd and Rostov Regions, according to the Information-Analytical Centre "Sova", which runs statistics of manifestations of racism and radical nationalism.

In March, experts of the Centre fixed at least three acts of vandalism, which they regard as motivated by hatred or neo-Nazi ideology. Since the beginning of the year, at least 11 actions of vandalism have been recorded.

During the first three months of 2012, racism-motivated attacks on people took place in Moscow and Moscow Region, in St Petersburg, in the Vladimir, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaliningrad, Rostov and Samara Regions, and in the Republic of Karelia. In March 2012, the ultra-right-wing activists beat at least seven people in Moscow, St Petersburg and Karelia.

This statistic does not include the victims of mass brawls, as well as the victims of the incidents in Northern Caucasus, says the website of the "Sova" Centre.
