Armenian serviceman killed in the zone of Karabakh conflict as a result of a quarrel with his colleague

The death of a nineteen-years-old soldier of statutory service Aik Mkrtchyan has been a result of a quarrel with his colleague, not careless weapon handling, Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Vladimir Gasparyan declared.

"Mkrtchyan perished as a result of a quarrel, he was deliberately shot at several times", Gasparyan said. He emphasized that the clause according to which the criminal case was initiated would be revised. 

Aik Mkrtchyan's colleague, soldier Lendrush Nazlukhanyan, was detained within the framework of the criminal case on Mkrtchyan's death initiated according to part 3, clause 373 of the Criminal code of Armenia (violation of weapon handling rules bringing about a person's death), Press service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported.

"I acknowledge myself guilty of every incident of this kind but I am not going to tender my resignation", Deputy Minister said adding that the number of cases of the soldiers' loss in the army was reducing every year, "Novosti-Armenia" reports.
