A local resident kidnapped and killed in Chechnya

Investigators of Chechnya initiated a criminal case on the fact of kidnapping and murder of a man, a source in law enforcement bodies of the republic reported today. The resident of Gudermes district of Chechnya was kidnapped by armed people from his own house and killed on the same day. In the opinion of leader of one of the local human rights organizations, only the personnel of enforcement agencies might have been involved in the crime.

At night of Sunday, September, 4, a local woman appealed to the police standby unit stating that three unknown men in Tsentralnaya street, No 1, of the settlement of Jalka forced her thirty-three-years-old son into a "Zhiguli" car threatening him with self-firers and carried him away in an unknown direction.

In the morning of the same day the kidnapped man was found killed in Grozny district, on the roadside of Argun - Petropavlovskaya highway, with a gunshot wound in his head.

A criminal case was initiated and investigation on the fact of the accident is in process. "All the necessary measures are being taken for establishing and detention of persons involved in this crime", the source said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In the opinion of leader of one of the local human rights organizations, kidnapping and murder of the resident of the settlement of Jalka that followed might have been committed only by personnel of enforcement agencies.

"Delimkhanov brothers live in the settlement of Jalka, Adam Delimkhanov, the eldest, being a close friend of Head of Chechnya and representing the republic in the State Duma of Russia. Another resident of the settlement is Chairman of the republican Parliament Dukhava Abdurahmanov, therefore the guard of the settlement is strong enough. Only personnel of enforcement agencies having the respective documents could have freely driven into a well guarded settlement, kidnapped a person from a house located in the center of the it and escaped as freely", the human rights activist considers.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported other cases of kidnapping in Chechnya. In particular, on August, 11, human rights activists reported kidnapping of a teacher of a men's madrasah and three of his pupils in Gudermes. According to the teacher's relatives, kidnapping was committed by armed and masked people wearing camouflage uniforms. Further fate of the kidnapped persons is yet unknown.

According to calculation by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources, ten cases of kidnapping, disappearance and illegal detention of people took place in Chechnya during the first six months of 2011.
