Caucasian Mineralnye Vody was 200 yesterday

The Caucasian Mineralnye Vody ecological resort of the Stavropol region was 200 yesterday. On April 24, 1803 Emperor Alexander I issued the Imperial Decree on imparting the status of the medical region of national importance to the Caucasian Meneralnye Vody. Nowadays about half a million health-resort visitors from all regions of Russia and foreign countries restore their health in the resort towns of Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, Essentuki, Zheleznovodsk, that are famous for variety of natural mineral springs.

An official celebration of the 200-th anniversary will be held on May 17 ? together with spring-summer holiday season opening.  The extensive complex of activities on afterwinter accomplishment and planting of greenery in the resort territories will have been completed by that day. The tradition of keeping the face of the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody unique in its architecture and accomplishment were laid by the same decree of Emperor Alexander I. It was stressed in the decree ?the organization of all those institutions that were considered to be requisite for the comfort of treatment and benefit of patients was to be started without any delays?.

To prepare the celebration of the 200-th anniversary of the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody the government commission, headed by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Yuri Shevchenko, was created.
