Workshop for Chechen NGOs on UN mechanisms of human rights defense took place in Nazran
A training workshop for Chechen NGOs on the UN mechanisms in the field of human rights defense, on economic, social and cultural rights took place in Nazran.
It was arranged and held by the public organization "Echo of War" and the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT), Geneva. The latter is an international coalition of non-government organizations fighting against torture, extrajudicial executions, forced disappearances, and any other harsh and disgracing treatment.
Severine Jacomy, Nathalie Mivelaz and Lucinda O'Hanlon of OMCT shared their experience with the participants.
Council Chairman of the Interregional Public Movement for Defense of Human Rights and Freedoms "Coalition" Deni Yakhyayev and the other NGO activists received a lot of useful information, which they are going to apply defending human rights and freedoms.
