Opposition in Georgia rejected election results
The Burdjanadze - Democrats opposition bloc led by Parliament Speaker Nino Burdjanadze said they would not recognize the results of the parliament election of November 2 and would abstain from working in the new parliament.
Nino Burdjanadze said at a press conference in Tbilisi on Friday that the bloc and its supporters "did not believe that every second voter of the country had supported either the Revival Party or the pro-governmental bloc For New Georgia (according to the data from 82% of polling stations, the two blocs have over 42% of votes)." She also said "the election results did not mirror the opinion of the people," and the Burdjanadze - Democrats bloc "would continue fighting for justice by constitutional and peaceful methods."
There is preliminary information that the Burdjanadze - Democrats bloc has about 8% of votes. 7% of votes are enough for getting parliament mandates.
