Georgian opposition is preparing to mobilize its supporters
The consolidated Georgian opposition said that it was preparing to mobilize its supporters all over Georgia.
On November 5, the consolidated Georgian opposition presented an ultimatum to President Shevardnadze. Mikhail Saakashvili, leader of the National Movement opposition bloc, urged the crowd in front of the Central Election Commission's building to disperse and to get ready for mobilization.
The opposition gave the Central Election Commission and Shevardnadze time until Friday to fulfill its demands. If the demands are not met, the National Movement and the Burdjanadze - Democrats organization, as well as their supporters from all over Georgia, plan to stage a large-scale protest at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time Friday.
The opposition demands that the authorities recognize its victory in the parliamentary elections and that the elections in such cities as Kutaisi, Rustavi, Gori, Telavi, as well as ballots from Georgian citizens in other countries be invalidated.
