Son of well-known poet Adallo detained in Dagestan

Today, Magomed, the son of a well-know poet and publicist Ali Adallo, has reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that his younger brother, thirteen-year-old Gamzat, who lives in Makhachkala, was detained by law enforcement officers on July 5 and is held at the temporary detention center of Botlikh district militia.

"The militiamen were behaving rudely and aggressively. One of the militiamen claimed that my brother and his companions were detained because they had failed to stop for document checking at the permanent post "Tlokh" of  Botlikh district, although no one tried to stop the car. Magomed Abdulkerimov felt bad in hot weather, he fainted, was taken to the nearest medical post where, after examination, the medical assistant said Madomed's pulse was faint", says Magomed Adallo.

According to him, the militiamen released Magomed Abdulkerimov from the  temporary detention center on the same day. In the evening, he was summoned to Dzhalaludin Nabiev, Botlikh district magistrate and former chief of the local militia, who imposed on Abdulkerimov a one thousand ruble fine for insubordination to law enforcement officers.

"No one showed any resistance, the magistrate simply toes the mark of his former colleagues. Doing them a favor, Nabiev also sanctioned extension of detention of my brother and Ramazan up to five days", states Magomed Adallo.

The "Caucasian Knot" interlocutor says that  Magomed Abdulkerimov and Radzhab Cheerov are still under constant monitoring of local militiamen.

"Local militia consider Radzhab a wahhabit. They often came to him and Magomed and conducted searches. Previously, Khabib Abdulkerimov, Magomed's father, disappeared because of such treatment. Nobody knows where he is now, people say Khabib has joined militants", says Magomed Adallo.

The Dagestan MoI press service claimed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they had no information on detention in Gumbetov district, officers of Botlikh district militia rudely refused to give any comments.

Human rights activist Isalmagomed Nabiev, chairman of Dagestan independent trade union of drivers and entrepreneurs, thinks that the incident with Adallo's son has had a relatively happy end.

"The Dagestan president and his team say that people in uniforms must act within the frame of law, but it is just a declaration so far" - he added.
