Journalist Gudadze who sought asylum in Russia wants to return to Georgia
The Georgian journalist Levan Gudadze, who addressed in early September for shelter in Russia, has addressed the migration service in the territory of Northern Ossetia with a request to stop the consideration of his application for political asylum.
Let us remind you that earlier it was reported that Russia was considering applications of two Georgian journalists on granting political asylum in view of the situation with the freedom of mass media in Georgia. The figurants were Badri Afanasiev, former producer of the "Imedi" TV Company, and Levan Gudadze, founder of the news agency "ITNexclusive".
According to Mr Gudadze, his decision to return home is a forced one, since the issue of granting him political asylum is protracted by the Russian party, and he is deprived of the right to work in the territory of Russia, as the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
According to the journalist, right after his crossing from the territory of South Ossetia to the territory of Russia his family remained without habitation. "Choosing among to evils - living in Georgia under a threat of attack, or living in the street in Russia, the smaller one is my return to Georgia. I can't stay in the street with a small child," he said in his interview to the "Echo Moskvy" Radio.
