Kadyrov appeals against GUVD's refusal to initiate criminal case against head of "Memorial"

Andrei Krasnenkov, advocate of the President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, has appealed against the refusal of the Moscow GUVD to open a criminal case against Oleg Orlov, chairman of the HRC "Memorial", to the Prosecutor's Office.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Moscow GUVD had refused to initiate a criminal case against Oleg Orlov under the "slander" article after his utterances that President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov was responsible for the murder of human rights activist Natalia Estemirova.

According to Mr Krasnenkov, he received a copy of the statement yesterday, and it was passed on August 31. "The Inquiry Department of the Moscow GUVD had itself appealed against this statement; therefore the answer of the Prosecutor's Office can be known already on Friday, or at least on Monday," the "Interfax" quotes the advocate.
