Zarema Sadulayeva's body had traces of beating

Zarema Sadulayeva, head of the youth NGO "Let's Save the Generation", who was found, together with her husband Alik Dzhabrailov, assassinated in the morning on August 11 in Grozny, was beaten before her death. As reported by one of close friends of the victim, her body had huge bruises, and one of her arms was twice broken.

The source of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent is convinced that before her death Sadulayeva was severely beaten, and, possibly, tortured.

"It was done in spite of her pregnancy. Her wrist and collar bone were broken; and she had huge bruises over the whole body. It looks that they had beaten her with boots or something similar," Sadulayeva's friend, who asked not to mention her name, assets.

According to her story, a piece of someone's hair was squeezed in one of her hands. Possibly, Sadulayeva tried to resist. Power structures of Chechnya refused to make any comments on this incident.

It is not clear so far, whether Sadulayeva's husband was also beaten or tortured. However, their colleagues and friends express their bewilderment with the fact that inspectors believe that Dzhabrailov and Sadulayeva were killed because the former had once been for some time a member of IAFs (illegal armed formations) of separatists.

"This can be asserted only by those who are unaware of Chechen traditions and customs or by those who deliberately want to mislead the investigation. Even if Alik Dzhabrailov had some enemies, blood feudists and so on, they would have never attempted a woman, moreover, murder her. What was the need then, in case of blood feud, to take Dzhabrailov and Sadulayeva away from their office in broad daylight, withdraw their telephones, documents and hijack their car," said Umar, a member of one of local NGOs.
