Dzaganiya still challenges legality of Pakhomov's registration as candidate for Sochi Mayor

Today, on the inauguration day of the Sochi Mayor elect, his rival in the election race Yuri Dzaganiya has stated continuation of his litigation against legality of registration of Anatoly Pakhomov as a candidate at the election.

"I reserve the right, and we'll do it - we'll go on suing Pakhomov on legality of his registration, up to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation," Yuri Dzaganiya, former candidate for Sochi Mayor and the first secretary of the Sochi city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We're at suit, because he was nominated for the election not by the general meeting, nor by the congress or conference, as stipulated by the federal legislation, but for the political board of the local branch of the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party, which was not competent to do it," Mr Dzaganiya has explained.

Another ex-candidate for Sochi Mayor - Boris Nemtsov - wrote in his "Live Journal": "There's no other word for this election but a swindle and broad-scale falsification. A swindle, because by the start of election campaign all mass media had been destroyed, and mass disinformation, zombiing and slander media were launched instead".

Galina Snimschikova, head of the press service of Sochi Administration, refused to answer the questions of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and give any comments on Dzaganiya's and Nemtsov's statements under the pretext that she had no time for talking with journalists because of Pakhomov's inauguration. To the question: "When should I call back?" - she hung up.
