Karachaevo-Circassia cooks the longest shashlik in the world

In the city of Cherkessk, the capital of Karachaevo-Circassia, the longest shashlik (kebab) in the world was cooked. The length of the modular skewer with the shashlik made 120 meters. For cooking the meal, 80 shashlik cookers used 400 kilos of meat from 30 young lambs.

While the shashlik was cooked, a holiday concert was performed in the central square of the Republic. The event was held under the aegis of the youth festival "Take your friend's hand!" and dated to welcoming guests from Abkhazia. On that day, Mayor of Cherkessk Pyotr Korotchenko and Mayor of Sukhumi Alias Labakhua signed an agreement on multilateral cooperation of their cities.

The concert brought together several thousands of citizens: many of them were quite happy, but there were also those who would have liked to come to the square "on voluntary basis, and not forced there to create a big crowd."

The previous record shashlik was 105 meters long and was cooked in Kabardino-Balkaria, then, Dagestan reached 106 meters, and the Abkhazian guests promised shortly to break the current record set by Karachaevo-Circassia.
